Also, think about if you are racing or will be. Certain races need to have draft legal bars while other do not. Also, a lot of riders hate riding in a pack with aero bar guys. This is because aero bars can snag a jersey or a seat pretty easy and are less agile when you need to do some quick avoiding. The draft legal ones are designed to not catch, they have a little brace on the end joining the two arms so you don't lance someone. The profile design bars are always good, I have the clip on ones from them before and they work well. Look for something that is adjustable and consider length, you can always chop them but cant grow em.
Anyone have a recommendation for budget friendly clip on aero bars. Ken
Ken, Elaine and I both have Profile Design Airstryke. I like the flip up armrests which get them out of the way when riding upright. They have a newer model out now Airstryke-S with an s-curved grip. Can buy locally or on line. Easy installation on a standard road bike handlebar and good adjustability. Check out Profile-design.com for various models and accessories drink bottles etc.
