Four O'clock Sunday afternoon we noticed our 14 yr old dog's muzzle and throat were hugely swollen. Wade suspected a copperhead bite but we weren't sure. Called our regular, popular vet in town and they quoted us a price of $580 up to $1400 for a biopsy, blood tests, IV drip, overnight stay and a few other things I can't remember. I was afraid I might have to put our beloved dog down. Called On Call Mobile Veterinary Services on a whim. They quoted me a price of $250 -300! They were in Sequin but got here in 20 minutes. Yup, it was a copperhead bite. My dog got 2 shots, 3 different kinds of pills and we were charged $216.00!!! They can do everything a vet in town can do, including shots, heartworm pills and dental. They come to you, no more struggling to get your dog, cat, horse or calf into town, they are professional, knowledgeable and they don't have the overhead of numerous employees and a swanky office.
