  Hi John, this is Dr Josh from East Avenue Chiropractic. The plantar fascia has an insertion into the bottom of the heel on a small bony prominence. As you continue to stress the fascia, the bone may become tender and inflamed. You should have it evaluated and treated. There is no reason this should sideline you.
