About us
Thank you so much for visiting my page!
First and foremost, I am a mother to my beautiful daughter. She is the inspiration of my art. I see her in the families I photograph and in the beauty of the landscape scenes I capture. She is my muse.
I have made it my personal mission in life to make at least one person smile every day. Through my lens, it is my goal to take that one special moment in time, freeze it, and make it last forever. This will be my legacy!
To say that photography is my passion is an extreme understatement. My many journeys, no matter how challenging or favorable, have made me aware of how it is the small things that matter in life. Holding on to those irreplaceable memories can make all the difference.
Having the ability to capture what may be the last picture of a family together gives me peace. I know what it is like to have those moments slip away and become fleeting memories. Providing you with the opportunity to hold that last happy memory in a frame or on a canvas or simply in a wallet ignites my desire to capture the perfect image.
I began taking pictures while I was an employee at an Elementary School. I captured the yearbook photos and assembled the yearbook for all to enjoy. Later, answering the call to serve my country, I volunteered to serve in the Army and was stationed in Hawaii. During unit functions, such as organizational days and family appreciation events, I photographed the festivities and published them to our unit Facebook page for Soldiers and their families to enjoy. Taking photos came naturally to me and I knew that I enjoyed doing it. It was then that I decided that I would pursue photography. After four years of service, I was honorably discharged from the military and I opened Phaedra W Photography, which later became an LLC.
To learn more about the art of taking pictures, I enrolled in classes at the Hawaii School of Photography under the tutelage of Steven Dantzig. My interest soon turned to... show more
excitement! I took to photography like a butterfly takes to the flowers. I started off with a crop frame camera and worked my way to a full frame camera; this progression has truly helped me appreciate where I began and excites me for where I am headed.
Currently, I am pursuing my Bachelor’s Degree in Photography at the Art Institute. My hope is to do great things behind the lens, perfect my art during the editing process, and to spend the rest of my life doing what I love.
I truly appreciate you visiting my website! Those who know me will tell you that I am always willing to lend a hand, so please don't hesitate to ask me anything to help you along your way. It is my pleasure to serve you and preserve your memories for generations to come!
Warmest Regards,
Phaedra
