About us
Heart of Phoenix is an organization of volunteers, officers and board members across 4 states.
We are a 501(c)3 non-profit
Our Focus
We want to see as many adoptable HORSES out of unfortunate situations as possible. Essentially, our goal is to save, rehab and place many horses as possible.
Because the need is great, our specialize on rehabbing the emaciated horse: Our horses are those that typically lacked the most basic care. We do not offer sanctuary to unsound horses or extensive long term training services for those with dangerous behavioral issues. We seek to place each rehabbed horse in an adoptive home on an adoption agree to help protect both the horse and empower the adopter.
The horses carry fees less than their value to encourage those looking for an equine partner to consider adoption.
We offer an owner safer placement program, gelding and health clinic, emergency feed assistance, new equine owner clinics, horsemanship clinics, animal control and law enforcement training and even more programs to help assure that we are working to help the "Unwanted and Neglected Horse Issue" from the ground up.

mdjk9 replied:Try horse rescues too. You might get lucky. The one I volunteer at occasionally get rideable horses (OTTBs, rideable horses that owners just can't keep due to life changes and want them to be safe, etc.). It's generally cheaper than buying a horse. There may be some that will let people from other states adopt horses. Here are some links to different horse rescues for references.
