One that specializes in ADVANCED western riding and beginner/preliminary levels through upper level SHOWING/RODEO. I want to compete this Fall and after being told that my new tall boots needed to be custom made for english riding (starting at $800), I have decided that I will be competing Western this year instead of dressage and hunter/jumper. If anyone knows of any stables or trainer, that would be greatly appreciated. Thanks:)

  You got in with the wrong trainer. I hate those who think they know what they are doing when they dont. Check out my daughter, Elisa Wallace at Wallaceeventing.com. It is not about what you have, how expensive the horse is, or what you wear. Its about your relationship with your horse. Dressage is the basic fundamental for all phases of riding whether its western, 3 day eventing, rodeo, barrel racing, trail, you name it. Please check out her website and go through some of her day to day training with her mustangs to her "black dragon" Johnny. I think this will help you and I am not trying to sell her to anyone. I dont have to, but just watch her training video. She is amazing.

  Looking for some trainer suggestions... I live in the Rome area and don't mind a little travel to find a trainer that fits my needs, but no more than an hour and half or so. I have an Arabian/ Trakehner mare that I think I would like to start in dressage. I say think because I'm not opposed to jumping, etc if it seems a better fit for the horse so a trainer that is well versed in both would be great. The mare is 7, but only recently started under saddle so a trainer with experience teaching a rider how to bring a young horse up the levels is imperative. I have 15+ years experience training/ showing the Arabian circuit but this will be my first time dabbling in the sport horse world. Its exciting and a little intimidating. Trainer must be open to Arabians ( I know there are plenty who are not!) So, I'm looking to trailer in for lessons on occasion as my budget and schedule will allow and perhaps meet up for coaching at schooling shows/ clinics etc as we progress.
