Does anyone know a good/cheap website or something where I could get my dog registered as an emotional support dog?
Steph G. replied:
There are a lot of sites out there but none of them are legit (even though they may look legit). You would be paying for a fake certificate. In order to have your animal legitimately be an ESA you see your doctor & have your doctor write up something for you. Check out servicedogcentral.org for more information and FAQ
Does any one know where a place to rent that will allow service dogs? My landlord will not let me have a service dog.
Sue B. replied:
Copied from servicedogcentral.org. "Can you be denied a rental because you need a service dog? This is a complicated question that should be answered by a qualified attorney. Some Federal laws, such as the Fair Housing Amendments Act, Section 504 of the Rehab Act, or Title II of the Americans with Disabilities Act may protect some people with disabilities from being evicted because of a service dog. Not all rental housing is covered by a disability law. A qualified attorney can determine whether you qualify under any of these laws and whether or not your landlord is exempted under them."

If the dog is used for mobility or other physical demands for the handler they have to be a certain weight and be tall enough. some dogs run small as others have no problem. The puppy my boyfriend and I are training just met the weight and is tall enou gh for her to be capable to handle bracing and his weight leaning on her at times. So we have introduced her to new tasks. :] Anythingpawsable.com is a great source as well as http://www.vestsforservicedogs.com/ I also enjoy reading articles on http://servicedogcentral.org
