Where can I find some good help, guidance and information on going self-employed as a dog walker and pet sitter? What insurances would be good for such businesses and any insurance companies should I avoid? Thanks in advance :)

  I use PetBusinessInsurance.co.uk Make sure vehicle insurance knows you have dogs in there too! They won't cover them in the event of accident, but better to know! Also if have fitted cages they need to know, won't cover cost of replacement but may companies don't insure "internal racking"! I've been self employed DW for almost 12 years now and was the best thing I ever did!

  Pet business insurance I use them for my grooming you want to be covered for injury to the dogs but most importantly public liability and don't forget employee cover even if it's just a friend or family member helping. Also have cover for this like keys etc if you lose a clients key and they have to have locks changed your be liable.

  There's this one too http://www.petbusinessinsurance.co.uk/ I think I called them for a quote and it was more than KC but the number of classes I do and how many one to ones I do changes so often it's hard to give them accurate info!

  For dog or club/trainer? Dog: dogs trust do a liability only cover- become a member for £25 for the year and you're covered? Club- cliverton Business - petbusinessinsurance.co.uk
