How many names has this Hotel gone by?
Also, what was the name of the 'All you can eat' buffet that used to be here? If you have any other photos of this Hotel, please post them in the comments.
Per Palladium-Item archives: Ground was broken for the hotel in 1971 and it opened in 1973 as a Ramada Inn. At one point, the restaurant was known as the Downunder. In 1977, Ramada sold it to Lees Inn. It was the second hotel in the 'new' Lees Inn cha in at the time. In 1980, Lees Inn sold it to Susse Chalet. The Casablanca Lounge was in the lower level of the Susse Chalet. Susse Chalet then sold the hotel. By 1994, it was a Quality Inn and that's the year the Quality Inn became the Holiday Inn/Holidome. That is the same year that the former Holiday Inn became a Ramada Inn (meaning the Holiday Inn was in the building that Ramada built and the Ramada Inn was in the building constructed by Holiday Inn.) In 2010, the hotel again became the Quality Inn. A new Holiday Inn was later constructed. (And, if you're keeping score, in the 1990 s, Lees Inn built a new hotel adjacent to the new Cracker Barrel. That hotel is now a Motel 6, and it's next to the "new" Holiday Inn.) Hotel genealogy is complicated!!! (So if I missed something, it's only because I didn't look at the right clippings in the right file.)
