Where is a good places to ride in or around Ft. Payne Alabama or Chattanooga TN??
Catie M. replied:
Unless you're just wanting Ft. Payne or Chattanooga, I'd go to Circle E, Diana. It's good riding on good trails, with some beautiful views. There are two campground areas, but the smaller one has lots of shade, and the barns/stalls are really nice. Not sure on trail mileage, but there's quite a bit to ride, and you can check the mileage on horsetraildirectory.com. Also, the Walls of Jericho is only about 10 miles down the road from there, so you can ride both if you want to. Just my two cents' worth!! Let me know if you'd like some company!! Lol
Needing information my family and I are planning a trip to Wyoming we have our own horses but need a place to keep horses and lodging for us so looking for camps or any info thanks in advance

Right off I-20 is Aiken SC, horse country. Hitchcock Woods is right in middle of town. There are some camping facilities in area, but not at Hitchcock. You can search on website www.horsetraildirectory.com for more trails. Good luck & have fun.

We are specifically looking for cabins with horse accommodations; Arkansas, Kentucky and/or Tennessee. (Missouri and Illinois Also) Can anyone help me? Or, suggestions of places YOU have been that were awesome!

You'd be amazed at what you see on those extra miles! It's usually only a couple miles but trails are great here. Try www.horsetraildirectory.com & pick the side of the park you want to start. You won't see & experience it all in one trip!
Ok everyone....I need some help. I have been striking out on my internet searches with places to camp with a living quarter trailer and horses in Colorado. Does anybody know of any places? I grew up in Colorado and every summer we would go to the mountains and ride. We also camped, but it was primitive. We would go to White Water and San Isabel National Forests around Buena Vista. I would love to go back and ride, but be able to take my rig. Thanks in advance!!!

You can actually go to this website and choose a state for campground and trail information. http://www.horsetraildirectory.com/
Anyone know of a website that has listings of rental cabins with kitchens and bedrooms that you can stay in and bring your horses with that has paddocks or stalls throughout the US?

Okay, so the horse and mule trails one seems to not be working. Instead, try horsetraildirectory.com It's even easier. If you scroll down on the home page, in the center column there is a link for camps with lodging. Click on that.
Hello All,
I am trying to take my big red horse camping this January, we live in South Florida and are willing to travel anywhere within the state, but have also never been camping with a horse before!! Any suggestions of best places to go and any tips on things I can do to keep my horse safe and happy will be greatly appreciated!! It's always been on my bucket list!! :) Thank you everyone in advance!

7 Bar L is a great place in FL to camp. We have not been in a few years, but since we were camping with kids we decided that the Music Park was not for the kids. 7 Bar L had both stalls and paddocks so we could pick where we put the horses. Trails are nice and easy along the Suwanee and you can ride up to the same trails as the music park. McCulley is also a good place too. Nice trails and they have panel stalls for the horses. Also look at www.horsetraildirectory.com you can research trails by state and read reviews from other riders for pros and cons of camps.
My husband and I are thinking about going to south east Oklahoma somewhere near/in the Ouachita National Forest for a riding trip. Looking at the middle of November. We travel a fair amount with our quarter horses and ride a large variety of types of terrain. Anyone have any suggestions on places to stay, facilities and types of trails. Thanks for your input.

Hoping to take a trip with the horses starting from south central PA up to Winconsin . Not sure best route. We nomally drive (without horses) from PA, thru MD. Then into Virginia, then West Virginia, then Kentucky, south Indiana. Then southern Illinois... then up towards Wisconsin (where some family live).
What would you all recommend for must stop places to camp and ride? One I get the truck and trailer as far as Illinois, getting the family to meet up with me there would be easy. Buy I have no ideas where to camp with the horses. I was to interception horse camping to some younger family members later this summer . I will have brought sweet beginner horses for the family to tide and enjoy.
Suggestions please

Hey FB friends! I was hoping to get a few recommendations for some place to stay with my horse.
You see, my aunt and uncle are driving my horse down from Michigan to Tennessee. Its a pretty long drive, about 12 hours (and that's without hauling horses). So to break it up they are needing a place to stay over night with my horse, preferably in Kentucky or even southern Indiana.
Does anyone have a favorite place they like to stay with their horse while travelling through these two states. Would like to stay near I65. Thank you all for any information!

Hello! I was wondering if anyone could help me out. In a few weeks we are move and it's going to be a 21 hour drive. My husband is going to haul 4 horses and will be needing a spot to stop and spend the night. Anyone know of any places along I-20 that has horse accommodations? The trailer does have a weekend package, so he can stay in there, but either he'll need a place to set up pens for the horses or an overnight boarding place. Any suggestions? Even a horse friendly campground would be fine.

Question for all you seasoned trail riders.....A girlfriend ( Betsey Schneider) and I are planning a trail riding trip around May/June 2018, we are trying to meet somewhere in the middle.....I'm from Chicago IL and she's by Dallas Tx. She has a weekender trailer (water and electric preferred at camp site but not required) but I would need a cabin or bunkhouse room to rent. We both prefer stalls for the horses but high lines are OK. We were thinking 3-4 days of riding somewhere up to 8-9 hours hauling/drive from us both. We would prefer to not do the same trail "loops" while there and ride about 3-5 hours a day. Thoughts, comments.....recommendations?!?!

Thinking about taking a vacation out east in the next two years. I drive a pair of ponies and REALLY want to drive in Arcadia National Park. I also want to do some family history research in Chateaugay, New York. I am in Michigan but do not want to drive through Canada, so I will be going around Lake Erie and up the coast to Chateaugay, and then onto Arcadia. I need to know where I can stay with the ponies. We have weekend living quarters and can do dry camping or go fancy and have electricity, either way is good for us. How are the camps along my route. There seems to be quite a few State and National lands, so I would expect there to be at least some that have equestrian camping.
Also, being from flatland Michigan will hauling a trailer be any problem? It is a 25' gooseneck. Anything I should know about?
Thanks for your input.
Suggestions please!!!! I am getting married and having to do a cross county MOVE/HONEYMOON in May from Tucson, AZ to Virginia with 2 horses a dog and soon to be husband. I am looking for bed and breakfast or beautiful places to stay or camp on our trip that can accommodate such a crew. Have not decided our route yet. Thanks in advance for your suggestions!!!
Karen W. replied:
We use www.horsetraildirectory.com to plan to locate horsecamps every 8 hours but we did do a 15 hour day one time because their was a tornado near the camp we had planned to stop at. Our horses travel with a full hay bag and we stop every 3-4 hours at rest areas or truck stops that have a large grassy area. They are comfortable in traffic so we unload, let them eat grass and do their business and offer water although they seldom drink until we get to camp.

We like spring, but it depends on what you like. Summer can be hot.
