Hi, do you have a good recommendation for a rabbit groomer? I just rescued a baby fuzzy lop yesterday (through a kind lady on Criagslist who took her from a pet store owner because she was being neglected even tho she couldnt keep her herself, she just wanted to get her out of there ) Anyway, she has terrible matted hair, some big spots right down to her skin- it's very sad. Ive made some good process between between today and yesterday with cutting away and combing but it's gonna be a long process. She is a frisky little thing and does not like to be handled so i havent even been able to check her belly or bottom yet(but i can tell from her hopping that she has urine in the hair but maybe because she's litter training?) So i think her bottom and possibly other areas may need to be shaved down but I am hoping I can prevent that . If I dont see a big improvement within the week of daily grooming then she might need to be shaven but I dont feel comfortable doing that myself so i wanted to see if you have any info on an experienced rabbit groomer just in case? The good news is my female 1 yr old Flemish Giant Beatrix and her are already bonding. Beatrix has turned into such a nurturing maternal figure to her and bumps my hand out of the way when I am trying to groom her because she wants to do it herself. She is already territorial over her and kisses her nonstop. I think once I can get lil Bessie into good shape, Beatrix will probably be of great help to her grooming. Also any suggestions in how I can calm her down better so i can check her belly & bottom? I tried wrapping her in a towel but she somehow flies right out of it. Any other techniques I could try?
