Where are you from and how did you get into this business?
Grew up in Boston, DJ'ed as The Boston Sound, Moved to LA in 1982, started Soundwaves LA, now in the Eastern Sierra entertaining from Santa Clarita to South Lake Tahoe
Describe a typical work day for you?
My business is based on having high quality equipment systems and the right music for a diverse audience. I also work as a volunteer at the Tri County Fairgrounds
From where do you draw your enthusiasm and inspiration for the job?
I love providing the entertainment program for events, Making people happy and getting them to dance and party is very gratifying.
How can a customer ensure that they receive the best possible service from you?
Set realistic expectations and clearly communicate needs, be flexible as the event progresses, don't ask for premium services then a discount... pay on time and have FUN.
What has been your most memorable experience on the job?
A couple telling me I was the best DJ they ever saw at a wedding and that they hadn't danced like that for 10 years.
