  Alright all you people who live in, or have visited, Nashville. Unbelievably, with as much as I love music, I have never had opportunity to visit Tennessee before. I am going to remedy that in November. I am taking a little musical tour that begins in Nashville and ends in New Orleans. I have already decided I need to arrive in Nashville early and see some sights and hear some music. The only major things included in the tour for Nashville The Country Music Hall of Fame and a performance at the Grand Ol' Opry. Obviously I must see the Ryman, but what else is a must see? How much days do I need there before the tour. It starts November 2 and I am hoping there are some great shows on in the days before that! Tell me what I want, what I really, really want (to see and do). Also, if anyone has suggestions for a centrally located hotel, that would be terrific. I do not want to rent a car. Don't need fancy, just clean, safe and good location for getting to things.

  I have been visiting The Bluebird Cafe in Nashville since my first trip in 1985. It's a songwriter showcase, a very small room in a strip mall, and well worth the cab fare. It has been showcased on the TV show "Nashville" so get a reservation in advance. I have visited since it became "famous" on the TV show and it has retained it's integrity. http://bluebirdcafe.com
