I just received a notice that Poulsbo Children's Dentistry will no longer be accepting patients over the age of five that have Medicaid. Does anyone know of another dentist in North Kitsap that does?
Rachel M. replied:
http://www.kitsapdfc.com/ The school I work at always referred to them, and the did take Medicaid.
Recommendations on gentle pediatric dentists please.
Chelsey G. replied:
I was super impressed with dentistry for children in Bremerton (pin Franklin ave). I took my kiddo there for his first dentist appointment after a mom friend recommended it. Their staff was great, the dentist was gentle, thorough, and nice, and the waiting room was full of toys and a big fish tank. I'll definitely be bringing him back there for his next checkup. http://www.kitsapdfc.com
Looking for a great childrens dentist, for an 18 month old. We are a military family. Who do you love? Sedation/anesthesia likely needed.
Van E. replied:

Sheila M. replied:
Dentistry for Children Dr Hays there are 2 husband and wife team. My children went here until they were 18. They now are 27, 21, and 18. We were also military. There is 2 offices PO and Bremerton.
Rita M. replied:
Dentistry for children - if you start them young and to not make a big deal sedation is not needed in my opinion.
Jessie H. replied:
My daughter was sedated for dental work but it was done at the hospital. They let me stay with her. That was with Dr. Hayes at Dentistry for Children. I also liked Kitsap Kids Dentistry but they weren't in network with my insurance. So what cost about 2 k at Dentistry for Children was almost 6 k at Kitsap kids.
Finally switching our dentists, who do you recommend? We have Delta Dental Insurance. Also hoping to find a great pediatric dentist for our kids. Do they have those around here? Or a place that is great for all ages. TIA!

Need advice--what are the best children's dentists in East Bremerton? My 9 year old daughter is going to need a lot of work done and I want someone who is patient and kind to kids. :)
Linda B. replied:
Hands down, http://www.kitsapdfc.com. My son started there at 2 and he is now 13 with NO fear of the dentist at ALL. Amazing staff.

Dentistry for children is where all four of mine go
Sarah S. replied:
Dentistry for Children also gets my vote. I have taken my children there over the last 15 years. We see Jeff Hays. The reason we go there is because of the terrifying experience my son had at 18 months old with a different office. They had him loving the dentist before long....

Dentistry for Children doesn't allow parents back with their kids...Kitsap Kid's Dentistry ENCOURAGES it! They are amazing, they do a local outreach program in the community as well. My kids LOVE going to the dentist :-)
Sue R. replied:
Dentistry for Children does allow parents in the back.
Stephanie C. replied:
Dentistry for children. Dr Hayes (the guy ) is always super happy and seems to love his job. My oldest never minded going back by himself (I think he does better when I'm not there ) but my youngest refuses. They had us wait a few minutes and put her and I in the private room. It wasn't a problem at all to go back. I still prefer not to go back because my kiddos tend to react more when I'm around than when I'm in the next room.
Lucy K. replied:
Sue Lynn Rogers the po one will not let me go back with my son. He is 4 and still doing baby visits because he refuses to go back without me and they refuse to let me go back. That's the dentistry for children I'm po. Ashley Cherry-Allen where is kitsap kids dentistry at?
Sue R. replied:
Lucy Kay I'm sorry you have had that problem. I have worked for Dentistry for Children for 16 years and we have a special area for parents and children in the Port Orchard office. It's always an option for families to use that space.

Dr hays at dentistry for children. My kids love him. We started with him 12 years ago with my oldest and now both my younger kids go to him.
Ashley A. replied:
Kitsap Kids Dentistry!! Dentistry for Children does NOT allow parents to go back with their kids at appts & that's a deal breaker for me.
Stephanie C. replied:
Yes dentistry for children dosen't allow parents in the back. But in 12 years and 3 kiddos we've never had a problem and my kiddos love him. They ask if it's time to go to the dentist yet. It might not work for some parents but my kids behave very well when I'm not in the back room. It is an open room and they have a peek window at floor level you can peek in and see them.
Sue R. replied:
Dentistry for children does allow parents back with their kids if the child or parent feel more comfortable that way.
Any recommendations for area dentists for kids? I love my dentist (Eleven Eleven dental) but they don't accept Apple Health for Kids.
Jenna W. replied:
Olycap is not open anymore. We refer children to either Dr. Charlie Brown, he excepts apple ins I believe. He is in Poulsbo. 360-779-7115. Or dentistry for children in east Bremerton. 360-377-3844. They are both dental offices for children who except state insurance.
