Let me start by saying that this photographer takes beautiful photos and is wonderful with infants. However, that’s about the only positive review I can give. Once the photo session was completed, things went off the rail quickly and getting what she promised became a true struggle. She had taken maternity photos of my daughter and since she booked the newborn session with her, she was to give her those photos along with the purchase of the infant photos. At the end of the session in the first week of May she promised to have the disc with both sessions out in about 2 weeks.
After 4 weeks and no disc, we contacted her and the run-around started. She first offered some nonsense about going to the post office and checking the “damaged mail,” (I’ve never heard of this). We had to keep following up with her for a status and that’s when she got rude and acted like we were bothering her in an effort to get something for which she had been paid. After numerous attempts to get the disc, she finally agreed to re-send it with a tracking number. By this time it is July. A shipping label was created on July 1st but no package was never taken to the post office, as the status never changed from “Shipping label created.” After several more communications in which she was rude and acted annoyed, she finally emailed the infant photos and said she was mailing one more disc (which contained the maternity photos) and if we didn’t get this one “we would have to pick it up in person.”
Needless to say, we never received that disc, so we contacted her on September 2nd and told her we would be in the Gulfport area and would like to pick up the disc that had never arrived. She said that she needed 24 hours’ notice and she would tape it to her door and we could pick it up on September 3rd. When we arrived at her house/studio on the 3rd, no disc was to be found and she said in texts that “she had forgotten” and had had to run to town and would be back in 30 – 45 minutes. At this point we had no illusion that she would be back in 30 minutes and as we had other things planned with family members that night, we just decided to give up on the disc. At this point some negative feedback was left on her Snap Happy Facebook page (which she deleted) and some Gulf Coast yard sale pages (which she evidently had the admins delete) at which time the rude and aggressive texts came from her at a furious pace. In an effort to stop the negative – yet accurate – comments she was suddenly willing to meet us wherever we wanted to get the disc. However, we really didn’t feel comfortable meeting her in person after the whole text barrage, so we’ve given up on getting the disc and just count ourselves lucky to have gotten the newborn photos via email.
I hope this review helps others who are looking for a photographer in the Gulf Coast area. If you decide to use Snap Happy, maybe things will work out better for you, but at least you have been given information to consider when making your choice.
