  IT Band friction "syndrome" Ok, looking for any thoughts. I had IT band issues a few years ago causing bad pain in my right knee. It shut me down for 3 months. Now it's same issue in left. I'm doing proper stretches, icing and rolling. Anti inflammatories are out due to allergies. I use an IT band strap but still aching. I have several races coming up in May & June and seeing if anyone has had any success with any type of treatment? Massage? Heat? Acupuncture? Thanks for any input.

  Looking for some advice. I developed IT Band Syndrome last April when training for the GC 1/2 Marathon. I started PT, strengthening/stretching, was back running 4 miles 3 times a week by late Summer, and thought I had it under control. Then it flared back up again early October. I'm "working through it" but don't feel confident enough to run more than 3.5 miles at a time (I'm up to 3.5 miles 3x a week). I stretch 3x a day, added lower body (hip, quad, calf, hamstring) strengthening 2x a week, changed to minimal shoes, added orthopedic inserts, and changed my running style (Good Form Running). Has anyone that had dealt with/gotten past IT Band Syndrome recently offer any insight/advice as to how you overcame it? Any insight is appreciated. Thanks!

  Go to a lymphatic therapist for massage! I also recommend seeing a chiropractor that specializes in A.R.T. (www.activerelease.com) ...and definitely identify any food intolerances; gluten, dairy, ect. If you can't afford testing, try an elimination diet first. Btw, I've taken my babies at 2 wks old for both of these therapies, so they are not painful or invasive. Very, very beneficial for everyone and anyone.
