  Arica T. wrote: We took our 12 week old puppy to a vaccination clinic provided by Tender Loving Care, at a Pet Club in our area, she got her second set of puppy vaccinations, they recommended we wait until next time to do rabies so we did not get that. We were in and out in less than 10 minutes, and I thought wow, this is super convenient! The problem started just over 24 hours later, when my puppy could not stand, could not walk, could barely move her hind legs at all. I called the number on the sheet they had given us, and the first thing they said was, "There's no way that can be from the vaccination." Really? Because I had a perfectly healthy, spunky normal puppy 24 hours ago. I find it very unlikely that she was sick beforehand, as they examined her, took her temperature, checked her heart, etc. specifically to make sure she wasn't sick, as you aren't supposed to vaccinate a sick dog. So they either vaccinated my already sick puppy, or shes having a reaction to the vaccination, I don't really care which, I signed a consent, I realize they aren't liable for anything, my problem at this point was that my puppy can't walk. I was told on the phone they would need to contact the vet, and would get back to me, never heard another word. Meanwhile I took my puppy to a competent vet, she had a fever of 105.5, nearly fatal for dogs, she was treated immediately. I don't understand why TLC couldn't do this for us. It's not their fault my puppy had a reaction, but they could at least admit and recognize that she WAS indeed having a reaction, and help me accordingly. Instead they chose to bury their heads in the sand. Horrible customer service, horrible patient care, would never recommend to anyone, and will in fact tell everyone I know to specifically avoid their services.

  Most pharmacies carry dog vaccinations, idk about cat, however...try TLCVetServices.com the are licensed vets at different locations and are reasonably priced. They even have clinics on sundays.

  Please delete if not allowed but is there any free or low cost vets around in the area? My cat has inflammation in the gums and lips and also has trouble urinating and pees blood every so often. He eats very little to nothing a day and even neglects his favorite foods. He's very skinny now and I'm not sure what I can even do for him. So if anyone has any suggestions or knows a place that I can take him to at least get checked out, it'd be greatly appreciated.

  You may not want to wait but for future info: BHC Animal Care & Welfare and Tender Loving Care Vet Services offer low-cost health care for pets every month, on the 2 nd and 4 th Thursdays. In December, that will fall on the 10 th (not sure if there will be one on the 24 th). It's held at the city's animal shelter, 2270 Trane Road.
