I am also looking for a service I used to provide but which I am now in need of (oh the Irony...) After years of perseverance we have been blessed with a very full work load. I have my evening business leading art sessions, and private sessions in my home studio. Just now I have also been hired by the OCDSB (Board of Education) to start shifts at 7:45am in the East end. We're in need of child care for my 8 year old in Orleans around the Jeanne d'Arc/Orleans Intersection/neighbourhoods. If you can recommend a caregiver (with a kind disposition, nerves of steel, and a sense of humour-- please pm me. I've already missed 3 shifts due to lack of child care and I could use your help.   The rate would depend on the area of Ottawa that you are looking in - the outskirts can be as low as $33, where the Glebe and Centretown can be upwards of $60. If you don't need a subsidy, you could contact some of the agencies (such as Children's Vil lage) directly, and they may have an unsubsidized space. You could try putting your postalcode in at the ccprn.com , or try one of the commercial sites such as daycarebear.ca. The CCPRN (Childcare Provider's Resource Network) also organises monthly meet & greets for parents and caregivers to connect, called "Child Care Connection" - there are meetings in different areas - the west end one is in the early years centre on Richmond Road. http://www.ccprn.com/en/information-for-parents/ Many caregivers advertise on kijiji or usedottawa, or at the schools local to their home. I used to provide childcare in Ottawa - if you p.m. me with your area, I may know some childcare providers in your area that I could recommend.
