  doggy has it she is great with older dog the appt he has is his appt he does not wait hours for his turn. this is what she just posted about grooming older dogs Doggy Has It added 3 new photos. January 31 at 1:15pm · ... Welcome Socket and Ratchet!🙂 This is s good opportunity to point out challenges with grooming older dogs. Sometimes the haircut just has to be considered done when the dog had enough. You do not want overwork them. It is a lot of work for them to stand through a full groom. They cannot stretch and bend their legs for certain scissor work anymore. They may have a hard time standing on their hind legs, so the belly needs to be done as fast as possible. Their teeth might be bothering so they are not as agreeable to touch and holding when scissoring the face. They have bumps and warts that need to be worked around and therefore hair does not flow that well as on other haircut. Priority with all grooms is safety and well being first, then comes looks.

  Anyone know of a good vet and groomer ? We've been using Banfield in Hoffman estates and absolutely hate them. We have two large dogs (one is a put bull mix) and no one there knows how to handle them. They are nice dogs who have never had issues with anyone before yet all the sudden they cannot get their nails trimmed or blood drawn without getting put under. Dropped them off today at 8am for their comprehensive exams and get a call at 330pm telling me they can't give them any of the vaccinations without a sedative and we will have to make another appointment. Glad I wasted my time and took them in today for nothing. It was hard enough finding time to get them both there today, now I have to try again because they sat all day in a cage waiting for it to be their turn and then they got scared. Well shit, Maybe try to calm them and get to them quicker and they won't be so afraid of you. Grrr.
