Our story has reached a lot of people now. The amount of response and generous support we have received is humbling and comforting and amazing. We couldn't begin to tell you all how much we appreciate it and love you. We have also heard from many people who have had similar experiences to ours in the adoption process. We knew that we were not the first to suffer this kind of loss, but it is appalling how often it seems adoptive parents have been violated in our current system - no matter the agency, lawyer, etc. Are there no officials who are advocates for us? The kind of scrutiny we have undergone just to be approved to adopt is the kind that almost none of the expectant parents entering adoption plans could pass, and yet, we are at the mercy of their decision-making in the end. It seems broken. It needs reform.
