Tattoo artists in Dallas Can anyone recommend a good tattoo artist or shop in Dallas? I moved here a couple years ago and haven't gotten any new tattoos since because I've been iffy about trying a new artist without a referral.

Trey Edinger at [Lone Star Tattoo](http://www.lonestartattoo.com/) He's done all my work.
Looking for a good place to get a tattoo I recently have been thinking of getting a tattoo (my first), and have been thinking about what I would want to get and where to put it. I'm hoping my fellow Dallas redditors might know a few good places to look into for actually getting said tattoo.

[Artistic Encounter](www.aetattoo.com) has some of Dallas's best tattoo artists. They're really nice, go through all of their artist profiles so you can see the artists' works, and decide who would be best for your tattoo. There's one off of Greenville and one in North Dallas. I've never seen anyone come out unhappy from them. I'm pretty sure they do a free touch up, too.
Also, places to AVOID! Tru Tattoo off of Rosemeade and Midway, I got mine there and it was just horrible. Tattoo came out okay, but it's faded and they don't offer retouches. Not to mention, they were all drinking while I was getting tattooed. Something I should have taken as a red flag. Also avoid CAT tattoo. It's like the Wal Mart of tattoos and piercings, if you get what I mean. Very generic. A good place if you want a tribal tattoo or something not complicated or meaningful, but I'd never trust them.
Skin Art is also good, a friend of mine got her tattoo there, a huge side piece, and it looks great. It took 6 hours, and I think they charged $100/hr without tip. Lone Star Tattoo off of Preston also did a really good job on my room mate, her tattoo looks awesome. Good luck!
