  HELP! Need a great BACK SURGEON for a friend on mine's son. He has a break in his spin (Pars area), which has resulted in a slip at S1/L5. He is also has serious degeneration at L5 and 4, and to a lesser degree at L3. His only corrective course is surgery, and is at point were that appears necessary. If you know of anyone who has had a successful outcome from a problem like this or a surgeon with a proven track record, I would greatly appreciate their name or and/or contact information.

  Richard, I highly recommend Dr. Torin Cunningham who operates at Miller Children's Hospital in Long Beach, CA. He is worth whatever distance must be traveled. My 15 year old daughter had extremely serious Scoliosis and Dr. Cunningham treated her for th ree years culminating in an extremely successful spinal fusion this summer which corrected her double curved spine. His skill in pediatric surgery is well known and he is in high demand. You cannot due better than Dr. Cunningham is the spine is involved. Torin J.
