  We went last summer and stayed at the Rosen inn closest to universal. It was perfect for us and our 6 year old. They provide shuttle to universal and We walked it a few times, took about 20 mins. We used uber to get to the Disney parks. Would definitely recommend this hotel! http://www.roseninn6327.com/

  There are loads of Orlando Facebook groups that it is worth joining! Main one is It's Orlando Time. Loads of information in them! We did Orlando last yr and stayed in Floridays..was pretty good value but was a bit out the way! Had shuttle to parks but only a couple a day so ended up using Uber a lot (which is fab)! If we were to go again I would probably try onsite, but would only do few days/week then stay on Idrive (Rosen Inn is central and good value)...

  My sons just back from staying at rosen inn international. Said it was very good, rooms basic but spotless. Restaurant was good...esp when weather was too wet to go out at nite. Would def use this hotel again he said
