  Karen G. wrote: I brought my boxer to Privileged Critters, knowing he had become seriously ill in a very short time. They diagnosed him with bladder cancer and let me know his prognosis was not good. They advised that it was his time to go. All of this was done with compassion and care, showing their love of animals and doing what was best for them was much greater than the almighty dollar. They worked with me on payment arrangements, knowing finances were tight. They helped him to the Bridge with love and care, gave support to me knowing how difficult it was for me and did this all with compassion for us both, never having seen him as a patient before that day. You won't find a better vet and support staff in all of Lakeland.

We will try to qualify her for Care Credit as well.   Looking for a veterinarian: This little guy wandered in our yard a couple months ago covered in fleas and sores on his ears and face. I cleaned him up and was going to adopt him out, but I couldn't adopt him out when I discovered the sores and by the time they healed after constant care, he became a part of the family. His ears are now fully healed and he is flea free! Now it's time to get him fixed and get officially checked out by a vet. Does anybody any recommendations for vets offices? My other boys got fixed at the SPCA which is probably where I will take him to get him fixed, but I just wanted to see if anyone knew of a good vet for his yearly visits/ sick visits.

  Im trying to make an appointment for my aussie German shepherd at the spca because she has been limping and chewing one of her feet and her leg is swollen. The spca isnt answering and it just tries to get me to leave a message. Is there another vets office in the area that is affordable and open late this afternoon or tomorrow? I tried cleaning her foot but i cant see any bites and i cant stand seeing her run around on three legs.

  Are you calling the medical center phone number at SPCA? It is (863)646-4647. The number is separate from their main one. Sometimes it just takes persistence. They are probably busy. :-) Privileged Critters is excellent also: (863)816-5815. New clients receive one free exam for one pet but you have to mention this when you make the appointment.

  Privileged Critters Animal Hospital in Lakeland, has a wonderful wellness plan. It covers all heartworm, 2 complete checkups a year, shots,etc. You pay monthly according to pet weight. Also their first office visit is free for new clients. I have a large dog and a small dog on their plan and the monthly payment combined is less than their heartworm medication a month is.
