So Whiskey the garden-eating stray bunny has made herself at home in our house. She has a URI and is getting antibiotics. She is giant, bigger than some of my cats and at least three times bigger than my other rabbits. She is also intact and unless she gives birth in the next three weeks, will need to be spayed ASAP as I can't stand the smell of intact rabbit urine. I have a 501c3 horse rescue. Are there any rabbit vets who will give a discount to a rescue? I asked the Exotic Avian hospital (can't remember the exact name right now) and they won't. Spending several hundred on a spay for a rabbit is not in my budget, especially since she already had a vet visit and antibiotics that happened to come at the same time as my cat's UTI and a very very expensive horse rescue we just did. She has a home here since her owners still have not come forward and she absolutely needs to be fixed. Because we have every intention of keeping her, I do not feel comfortable fundraising for her medical costs, just need a little price break. Any ideas?
