  Some advice for anyone looking for a DJ/Disco for any event. Whoever you book don't be afraid to ask questions like 1) Are they a legit registered business paying tax, the last thing you want is the tax inspector catching them working illegally and tak ing them away leaving you with no DJ and equipment confiscated for tax evasion 2) Do they have and proof of PLI (Public Liability Insurance) last thing you want is a party goer hurting themselves on equipment (Should it unfortunately happen.) 3) Do they provide contracts? this not only protects us DJ's but it also protects you the client! So if they are unable to make your date do they offer to find another DJ/Entertainment of similar value and experience. 4) Do they have and provide proof of their Equipment is PAT tested (Portable Applliance Test) to make sure their equipment is electrically safe to use. Most venues are asking for this and can refuse entry to any entertainment if they don't have any proof of PAT. 5) If they are using a Laptop, MP3 Player, or any kind of digital playout, again ask for proof that their music is legally paid for and downloaded and not downloaded from torrent sites or ripped from youtube! again last thing you want is a PRS or PPL Inspector turning up and they have the power to confiscate any equipment that has illegal content on it thus leaving you with no entertainment.
