  Does anyone know of a fingerprint expert in the area? I'm required to send in ink fingerprints yearly to the FBI for a criminal background check (we are in the process of adopting). I've used the police department but they always get sent back as illegible (they are always gracious, and it is definitely not their fault). I've also gone to Austin Police Department where they do them on a computer and print them out . . . according to the computer the prints were passable. According to the FBI they are not good enough. It's not the fault of the people doing the fingerprints. Ink fingerprints aren't very common anymore, and they are hard to get. I just need someone who knows what it is the FBI wants so I can hopefully get them through.

  My husband and I both had ours done through DPS. There's a list of locations at the following link. We went to the Gonzales location first.
