I am asking for some help from my fellow Topeka History Geeks. My aunt died at the age of 16, in a Motorcycle wreck, October 2nd, 1953. Her Name was Geraldine Lee Hutchens AKA Gerri Lee. My Mother was only 18 at the time and I have only seen 1 picture of my Aunt in my lifetime. My Mother will turn 80 in July and I would love to find some more pictures of her sister for her. Maybe if someone has school pictures of her or one of her friends could direct me to some archives where I may find some. Thanks In Advance for your help.
Amy H. replied:
I could go to yearbook.com and hope that the page I order actually has her on it. I'm not sure about yearbooks at the library or lists at 501. I was hoping maybe someone had a yearbook in their possession and knew her.
Karlin P. replied:
Is there any type of master lists that 501 maintains? Or maybe the TSCPL has some old school yearbooks to look through. Several of the elementary schools have been closed, as I am sure you know.
Michael R. replied:
Was she born in 1937 ? My mother was born that year and went to Topeka High. She could be in the yearbook. Was her HS Topeka high or Highland Park ? Also, the schools might be able to give you contact info for reunions from that graduating class which would be 1955 I assume.
Tisha T. replied:
I have some Topeka High yearbooks, I will take a look and see what I have
Michael R. replied:
Just talked to my mom. She did know her and said her boyfriend took a curve badly and she was thrown off and hit her head on the concrete. She was also in my step moms class. She died last June, but my dad might have her yearbooks. My dad also went to Topeka Lutheran. I will ask him
Leana M. replied:
I have some old yearbooks too. I will look
Mark W. replied:

Lori P. replied:
Shawnee County Public Library might have the high school yearbooks you could look through.
Sadly, my mother married a man that threw all of my yearbooks away. Does anyone know where or how to get new ones. I'm sure they have them buried in the basement under the "A" building but it's a trainwreck down there. I was at Reed from '79 or '80-'83.
Stacey F. replied:
Supposedly it can be found on Yearbook.com but im not sure. It's part of classmates and you have to pay for a membership. I tried it for a while and it was a pain in the butt
Sheila P. replied:
Try contacting the school. They should know where to get yearbooks,
Julie G. replied:

Ken C. replied:
Go to yearbook.com and type in year and school

You could also try some of the Aurora yearbooks from the early 60's when he coached there. Say hi to him from me. We worked together.
Does anybody know where I can get a 1965 yearbook?
David M. replied:
E yearbook.com
Courtney N. replied:
Check with the school. I used to be on the yearbook staff and we had quite a few yearbooks from the early 60's and up. I found my moms yearbook for her. They didn't have every year, but had a decent amount. That was 18 years ago but worth a try!

My aunt is looking for ERHS yearbooks to purchase for 1963 & 1965. Any suggestions?
Jerry B. replied:
I think the classmates offshoot/subsidiary is yearbook.com.. If they have already digitized that year, you can order several different variations.
Chris C. replied:
I have found old yearbooks on Ebay.
Michael R. replied:
The book store at the end of East Ridge has some old yearbooks. Not sure if they are ERHS or not.
Pamela T. replied:
I needed to find one for a friend and couldn't, so I took mine to a place that does copies. They not only made the copies but I bought a hard back and so it was bound like the original one. So that is an option since our yearbooks don't have a copyright you can copy them.
Hey fellow Allum... anyone know where one can obtain an old year book? Prefferably c/o 87'
Lisa J. replied:
Try yearbook.com. They may have a way of finding out who produced the book.

I'm looking for a 1991- 1993 year book if anyone has one that they would like to part with. Never got one while in HS and have wanted one for years. Graduated '93, but would take any of the yrs between freshman and senior...Thanks in advance!!
Kerri G. replied:
I believe yearbook.com is the company that wanted the insane amount of money. They are not a re-print company, rather a sort of locator company. They will locate other ppl that have their books for sale that qualify as the one you are looking for
Sandy D. replied:
AHS FB page posted something recently about getting old yearbook reprints. You may want to look on their page if you don't find one elsewhere.
