  Hi All We have 2 cocker spaniels, father and son, the son is very aggressive towards the father so much so we had him castrated a few months ago in hope this would solve issue but it hasn't, we are looking for a good trainer who could come to our house as it only happens in the house and advise us on what is triggering it and methods to try and resolve it.   If you are dealing with aggression then you need to make sure you have someone who knows what they are talking about - so have studied or are studying for a recognised qualification in dog behaviour (BSc/MSc etc.) as well as plenty of hands on experience handling these types of cases. You will also need to be able to provide as much history as possible. Drop me a message or email me on charlotte@urbancanine.co.uk if you would like to have a chat. Have you spoken to your vet as well? Sudden behaviour changes can often be caused my medical issues and these need to be ruled out before any attempt at behaviour training takes place as it won't work.

  If it is noise related then it's very different to separation anxiety (fear rather then over attachment) so he may well be fine with a dog sitter. If you're looking for a behaviourist please look for someone who is properly qualified. For this I would look for someone who has a degree or post graduate qualification or who is studying for one. Chirag Patel of Domesticated Manners in Ilford has studied at University of Lincoln or I am currently studying for my MSc in Clinical Animal Behaviour and my website is www.urbancanine.co.uk Not a personal advert just it's really, really important to go to someone who isn't just a trainer and understands the research and emotional states in dogs. Otherwise it won't work or could make the problem worse.
