Looking for a technician who works on vintage electronics in Metro Detroit to repair my family’s Betamax — recommendations? My Betamax, which has served my family well for nearly 40 years and is quite commonly used in our home, has recently started to have a problem with getting stuck, it still works but I’m afraid that having to pull out the tapes when they get stuck will damage the tape and the machine so I want to get it repaired. I called my camera repairman because he has restored my 40-70 year old cameras so well that I can and do use them almost daily and semi-professionally, but he told me that he can’t fix it and recommended that I find a vintage electronics technician.
Can anyone here recommend someone that could help? Betamax is my favorite small screen format so this is important to me, and because the original model *which we have* is so much better than later models we would rather repair it than buy another one.
Thank you!
