  Ahhhh just met the man of my dreams - well in an IT capacity - and that'll do for now! Was put in touch with Anthony from Techant - he came to the house, did a bit of firefighting, got everything running again. No geek speak, lots of useful advice on all aspects of my IT needs - including how to stop kids downloading stuff that stops things working.! Very reasonable rates.
