  Does anyone make furniture? So, long story short, a white oak fell on my garage smashing the place to splinters. That said, it's a very substantial hardwood that I don't want to burn or just rot. Turns out that there's a place nearby that can mill trees. I talked to them, and it's possible. So, I know that I'm not going to be able to make much worth while with it, but I was hoping that someone else could. Does anyone know anyone who can do things with it? What sizes of wood makes sense? I am willing to pay some for someone to turn the wood into decent quality stuff, here. Just so you all know, it's still sitting in my garage as a whole tree, so I'm trying not to get ahead of myself here. But I would rather have an idea for the right sizes to cut it down into rather than cutting everything into 2x4s and not being able to make anything out of it.

  Jean, Decatur Presbyterian Church has used Williams Furniture Repair, Inc. 770-938-8774. He is in Tucker. He came to the church and repaired a side board. He has taken chairs to his shop and repaired them. He refinished the top to the grand piano in the Chapel and refinished the pulpit from the 1892 church to be used in the Chapel......he does beautiful work at a very reasonable price. He referred me to John Shin at Embry Hills Upholstery Shop which is located at Northlake Tower Festival 770-938-4682 for redoing my dining room chair seats. Mr. Shin did beautiful work and was very reasonable. I am sure Greer Thomas Shinall has sources too. But I personally have had experience with these two craftsmen!
