Restaurant recommendations in London? My boyfriend and I are going to be celebrating our 2 year anniversary soon. I'm open to all cuisines (although I don't eat beef) in a restaurant that is fancy but affordable and doesn't require me to spend £100 on our dinner. Any ideas?
Thanks in advance!

[Medlar](http://www.medlarrestaurant.co.uk/) So good that I went back several times to have exactly the same meal from start to finish.
Can anyone recommend a French restaurant in zone 1 or 2, ideally run by French people...? Thanks in advance...
Edit: Thanks for all the great suggestions!

On the edge of zone 2 (Putney mainline is 2/3) is [L'auberge](http://www.ardillys.com), run by a french patisserie chef and his wife. Lovely place. On the King's Road there's [Medlar](http://www.medlarrestaurant.co.uk). Modern french but run by Brits. Has a Michelin star but not outrageously priced if you go for the set menu on a Sunday.
