  Question from the Inbox ~ We are heading to Offutt AFB in July and I was wandering if anyone could provide good information about the base/town and schools. Our concern of course is housing. Is on or off base better and wanting to know if anyone can provide information about base housing and how long of a waiting list there is and what the houses look like. Any information you can provide would be very appreciated. Thank you!!

  There are 2 Elementary Schools in the off base housing community, Peter Sarpy and Lemay..both are great, my 2 sons currently attend Peter Sarpy. There is also an elementary school right outside of the off base housing, it's Fort Crook Elementary.The best thing about the Bellevue public school district is every school follows the same curriculum. Check out http://www.bellevuepublicschools.org The Bellevue Welcome center has a lot of information including a zoning map for the school districts. We also had 1 house waiting for us when we moved here, so we had no wait time, but that was in March of 2011 before pcs season. We contacted the Rising view office before we moved here and Bettina had started a file for us and told us which houses we would qualify for. She also sent us a package in the mail with an area map and all sorts of other info.
