I want to take my kids and their little cousins camping/ fishing. Anyone know of any spots that are in Bass Lake? If not, who would I ask for info about paying for a camp spot and rules?
Tom A. replied:
To get reservations for camping contact the national reservation system at 1-877-444-6777 for information contact the Bass Lake Ranger district.
Anyone stay at a fire lookout tower? I am looking for suggestions.
Megan T. replied:
They run mostly between $25 & $40. Go to reserveusa.com or call 1.877.444.6777 for reservations. Online you can read about the different lookouts. Some are tent, some cabin. All vary. You can get a good reference to what you will need to bring and if you have to hike in.

Buffalo Point is the only campground in the park which has RV hookups. It is closed for the winter EXCEPT B LOOP, which is open year round. 1-877-444-6777 to reserve campsite.
does anyone have a cheap or know someone who might have a cheap condo/rental for 1 -2 days in gulfshores or along the al. or fl. coast ??
Dick J. replied:
Fort Pickens in Florida (a national park) is really reasonable if you like camping. And with raised airbeds and electrical/water hookups (for fans and having water to rinse off and clean things), and nice public showers/toilets, it is really nice for families. Kids love it. And the beaches are beautiful there. On weekends, they have a trolley that runs from the main gate, and it runs all along the beach road to the restaurants and shops. I think it's only around $20 to $25 a night. The phone number for reservations is !- 877 - 444 - 6777. They can tell you all about it. We love it there.
Can anyone tell me if there are any state parks or federal campgrounds near Woolum. With electric for a small camper. Thanks
Rhonda M. replied:
Craig, you're near the Tyler Bend Campground when in that area. It has some camper/RV support. You can call the NPS at 1-877-444-6777 to learn more about the hookups available. Sites are available on a first-come, first-serve basis.
