    Sure the prices are cheap, and the new vet is pretty good and knowledgeable from what I saw, but the facility and the equipment needs to be upgraded. The owner also needs a reality check big time; I'll get to that. My complaints: - You don't extubate an animal (take their endotracheal tube out after surgery) before the animal is swallowing. You just don't. What if that animal needs to be put back on oxygen while they're recovering? Then what you're just going to shove the ET tube back down the trachea and hope you get them on oxygen fast enough? -You don't administer opiate drugs before the animal has recovered from surgery. You administer it after once the animal is awake. Why? because then the animal takes two hours to recover fully. You want to make sure they're awake, and ok before giving them drugs. -The proper aseptic techniques for surgery were not followed. There isn't even a surgical scrub station to prep for surgeries. -You NEED to use catheters during surgery. Why? In the event you need to administer medication intravenously you need the catheter. What if something goes wrong? Then you're going to rush trying to find the vein, place the catheter, and administer medications. Hopefully the animals heart will still be beating by then and they haven't gone in to shock. It doesn't matter how fast the surgeries are, catheters should always be used. -The pressure cooker that is used as an autoclave needs to be upgraded. An ultrasonic cleaner should be used as well to make sure all the particles are off of the surgical instruments. Don't even get me started on the hand towels used as pack wraps. second topic: You don't fire someone for doing the job that you hired them for. That's just digging for something. If they're doing the job, and doing it how the other person working along side them showed them how to do it, and asked questions if they didn't know the answer for the client, I don't believe those are grounds for terminating someone. You don't say, hey, work front office, and then not have them learn front office. How do you learn? By doing the actual job, not by checking if the files are hole punched for two days in a row. Also, not everyone is going to be able to talk in a baby voice all day every day just to please you. Not everyone is going to have an awesome day every day. Sometimes life gets in the way. The owner complained that I was too quiet when I was going through some intense personal things, and was going to let me go. Then 4 days later, everyone had a bad attitude. Did anyone else get threatened? No. You're not going to have longevity in your workers if you are out to get everyone. I would rather work at an "evil", big corporation like petco, a humane society, or banfield than work for the owners of this place again. At least at those places they're professional (personality wise, and uniform wise) and get the job done CORRECTLY.
