  Here is first on Moreno Valley Matters... RACCOONS!!! (Is someone missing their raccoons? Jk.) The reader lives near Cottonwood and Frederick and they were in her backyard eating their cat's food. I've seen possums in the city but never raccoons. Very cool.... From a reader: "I had no clue MV had raccoons??? Are they dangerous???" I think they can get mean but I don't know... Any raccoon experts?

  Moreno Valley has "sewer" raccoons!! They live in the sewer system and get around town easily. They are scavengers and are looking for an easy meal. In order to deter them from visiting your yard, do not leave pet food out or your trash cans unsecured. They are on the high end for being rabies carriers, just like skunks and bats, so do NOT approach them and keep your pets away!!
