She does her own colour, and doesn't want to be judged for it. She also doesn't want to be told that she should straighten her hair. Maybe it looks poofy, but in her opinion, you gotta work with what you got. Plus, she doesn't want to spend an hour in the morning working against the poof, only to have the humidity undo her hard work. Any suggestions?

  http://www.curlambassadors.ca/ They have locations downtown on Harbord, in Vaughan and in Pickering. Had my own (curly) hair cut there before and they do a great job! A little on the expensive side, but they know curls.

I've been going to a family hairdresser but I find that she doesn't treat my curls carefully and that when I straighten my hair, it doesn't look very silky and smooth!   Can't help for box-braids but when I was in TO I went to [Curl Ambassadors](http://www.curlambassadors.ca/) the Harbord location. It was my first experience at a curly- hair salon. I liked them for the most part (thought the stylist was good but the woman who made the appointment was rude and dismissive). I liked the cut and style I got. My hair is 3 b/3 c though so ymmv. It was a while ago so I don't even remember the stylist's name unfortunately.
