  So I always celebrate my birthday in Athens Ga with my best friend. I have only been to Helen in the spring and it was beautiful then. i thought about bringing some friends up from Florida where I live to visit this year and stay a few days in Helen to celebrate Octoberfest for my 29th and then off to Germany for my 30th? Any recommendations for hotels and events would be great! Should we stay during the week or weekend for the most events? Not sure and hard to find info on the web. information would be great :)

  The weekend, Saturdays, especially are the big party nights. Definately get a room somewhere in town that you can walk to. There are many hotels listed on the website on the members page. Go to www.helenchamber.com for more information.

  Go to www.helenchamber.com and follow the tourist link at the top of the page which will take you to the Convention Visitor Bureau. Click on visitor information and follow the links to camp grounds for a list of several places that should accommodate you.
