  The only person we trust with our vehicles is Daryl at 87 Garage (850-939-5485). He's a mechanical genius, honest, and doesn't price gouge.

  Always heard good things about 87 garage, but if they are too busy to take you, Cannon Auto in Gulf Brz is great. I've used them for years. Fast, professional service and they don't over charge.

  Starr wanted to charge me 8 hours labor for a job I was able to do in 7 having never done it before, in my driveway, without a lift. That includes about an hour that I waited out a rainshower. They were also about double what I paid on the part, and I suspect I got it from the same place they would have as it was the only one available in the area (used part). They charged my niece a diagnostic fee to tell her to take it to the dealer under recall. I think they probably do good work, and they did fix damage they accidentally caused, but they will not be the least expensive for sure. No complaints about the customer service, it was great, but I felt like they were over billing to the point of being dishonest. Had a great experience with 87 garage, other than they did not do a few things I wanted done because they said it didn't need to be done. I appreciated them saving me money, but I asked them to specifically do these things and was disappointed to not have them done. When they do need to be done, I may not have the money and/or time to deal with them. So if you ask for something to be done you may need to add "even if you don't think it needs it". They were very fair with their pricing and time billed. Watch out for places that bill labor based on some book that may not be accurate. Also had an awesome experience with Navarre Alignment, 87 Garage sent me there when I needed something done before leaving town and they couldn't fit me in. That really, really impressed me. In my book that shows that they really do want to help, not just make as much money as they can off people.

  Question: I have a 2008 Suzuki SX-4 and have intermittent power loss to the instrument cluster. Bob Tyler Toyota, who I can't stand, doesn't really know what the issue is and wants to charge me $800 to replace the whole cluster. I think it can be fixed, if the right person were to look at it. I have spoken to a few mechanics, and most of them tell me that they have no idea and refer me to the dealership. Has anyone previously had this problem with a vehicle before, or does anyone know of any local mechanics that have experience with this issue? Any advice is appreciated! Thanks!
