Question for my local friends: when you get a traffic citation in MA, doesn't this have to be handed to you in person during the incident? I recently got into a (single vehicle, no injury) car accident, passed the sobriety test (but not breathalyzed) as a designated driver, and the cop on the scene said he believed me to be sober. But then just got a mailed citation for several criminal violations (including DUI) of which I am not guilty of, and my only instructions are to sign the bottom and mail back in the next 3 days to schedule a hearing. I don't want to sign something I disagree with and DOES ANYONE KNOW A GOOD LAWYER WHO WON'T GOUGE A BROKE-ASS inky?
Thanks in advance for any advice!
