  Hey - to the person who was looking for strings, online sources that are excellent and fairly priced are www.elderly.com www.juststrings.com www.musiciansfriend.com the store on chemical road is called "guitar center" it is a chain but a pretty well run chain store. the prices are pretty good and they have a super selection. It is in the strip mall where there is a target and barnes and noble.

It works out great for me...I can arrpegiate the chords (arrpegiate???), and can play much better, although, I would like to get that "bite" I got from a pick, but without a pick. What would you finger picking folks suggest, long treated fingernails, or finger picks? Where can I get some real nice fingerpicks? It seems that whenever I do use a flat pick to play now, my timing is affected for some reason. My timing is off a little...not much, but enough for me to feel it and thus, hear it.Thanks in advance.

  I suggest because finger picks and thumbs are relatively inexpensive, buy a variety and experiment. I find plastic, which can be resized using boiling water, stay on better in performance, but are tight. Metal can be bent, but tend to slip off easier and for comfort are better for long practice sessions. A good source is www.elderly.com
