Does anyone have any recommendations for a pediatrician that is extremely supportive and knowledgeable about breastfeeding?
Yahaira S. replied:
Pediatric associates of richmond is very breastfeeding friendly. They have a lactation consultant on staff and it's easy to get appointments, we see Dr. McAtee. Their number is 804-282-4205
Does anyone know of a pediatricians office that's open on Sundays? Around mechanicsville/vcc/ashland or Richmond area. Please let me know
India L. replied:
http://pedassocrichmond.com/ they are not usually open Sundays but they will open the office if their patients need them. Like right now during flu season I think they have been open on the weekends quite a bit. They would rather their patients see them then go to an urgent care so they do what needs to bee done to take care of them. We have always been able to get an appointment when we needed and so many of the docs are wonderful!

Just moved to the area and I'm looking for a pediatrician in he Glen Allen/Short Pump area for my 3 year old and 4 month old. We came from a small (3 doctors), very kid centered, practice. Any recommendations?
Megan B. replied:
We use Pediatric Associates of Richmond. They aren't small but we have been very happy. We've seen a handful of the MD's and 2 of the NP's. When my daughter was 12 weeks old and running fevers without an identified source (scary for a mama who works in the PICU and has seen the worst of everything!). We got a call from the Dr who saw us on a Sunday night at 7:30 to check and see how we were doing. We live in Glen Allen and use the Mechanichsville-Bell Creek office. Super easy to get to and has never been as busy as the Three Chopt office. http://pedassocrichmond.com
Hey Moms out there,
We just moved to the area and need to find a great pediatrician--specifically one that is good with food allergies and listens well to parents. Thanks.

Rachel has a question.
"I am expecting my 1st child in 6-8 weeks and would like to find a homeschool friendly Pediatrician in the Richmond-Petersburg area. One of the HEAV speakers suggested I connect with other mom's on facebook because no one knows better than you. Thanks for any advice and info. See you at the next convention!"

Dr. Shreve is an awesome and caring pediatrician. We have seen him (mostly) and also some of the other great Dr's and nurse practitioners for over 10 years now, with our 5 (6 th on the way) Well worth going to the west end for. http://pedassocrichmond.com/

I agree with Michelle Colo Burdiss..Pediatric Associates of Richmond Inc is awesome! We have used them for 16 years and love them. We go to Matthew Weber, he is wonderful! He is very respectful of our decisions and never pushes anything on us. He makes recommendations, but never pushes. They have several offices around the Richmond area. They are not home school specific, but they are all wonderful doctors!
I am relocating from Charlottesville and need a pediatrician for my 10 month old. We will be living in the church hill area. Any suggestions?
Michelle B. replied:
Hello Julie and welcome! I also have a 10 month old, he's my youngest of 5 and we have taken all 5 to Pediatric Associates of Richmond since the beginning (almost 10 yrs now). We love Dr. Shreve so much that we kept going there even when we moved nearly an hour away. Really like all the Dr's and staff there...http://pedassocrichmond.com/
