I have worked in the Veterinary Science field for 20 years. In that time I have worked with a half dozen different Veterinarians who all had different ways of solving problems. I have a wide array of knowledge of different animals ranging from potbellied pigs to sugar gliders and everything in between because of the variety of animals the doctors saw. I decided last year that I wanted to go in a different direction. I decided that I wanted to stay within this field and use the knowledge I had gained over this time to start my own business. I enjoy helping people, making my own schedule and dealing with different situations. That is how Blue Dawg Pet Sitting came about. Blue Dawg Pet Sitting not only does pet sitting, I offer multiple services. Some of them are listed below. If you do not see something listed, please feel free to ask. I have been asked to go to people's houses for various reasons from expressing bladders to changing bandages to giving subcutaneous fluids. Free first time visit consultation. It's always a good idea to do a meet-and-greet before you go away to make sure that your pet gets along with me and/or my pets. This also gives you a chance to see where your pet will be staying and to ask any questions you may have. If you are staying at my house, it's a good idea to bring a favorite blanket, their OWN food and up to date tags on their collar. Blue Dawg Pet Sitting's main focus is in-house boarding. It is not your typical boarding facility. I do not have runs or a separate area for boarding animals. The dogs that stay with me are kept in the family atmosphere they are accustomed to. They are put into our family life as if they were one of our own. I have a half acre that has been recently re-fenced, a dog park a half mile away, and an owner that is very active. Due to the fact that it is not a "boarding facility," the dog's seem to become much more comfortable faster. I have 3 of my own dogs. I do require the dogs to be up to date on vaccine's... show more
including kennel cough and to be flea free. If your animals are "stay at home" animals, I do offer my services at your house. I will travel to your house up to 3 times a day and I stay for an hour each visit. *A travel fee might be applied and is up to my discretion depending on where you live and the time of year. Now a days, it's not uncommon for people to work 12 hour shifts. I do offer an hourly exercise program to break up the day and get rid of their excess energy. show more
Can anyone recommend a local pet sitter? Someone who would be good with a mushy lab and a feisty old chihuahua.
