To meet one of our animals, your first step will be to complete our adoption application and send it back to us at your earliest convenience. Due to the fact we are a foster- based and volunteer run rescue, all our animals are up to date with vaccinations, microchipped, spayed or neutered and live in foster homes until they find the right match with a forever family. Animals can be met by appointment only, or at local meet and greet events we hold at various pet stores and other locations in our community.
We want to ensure our animals find the right match, so we always do a home check (or request photos/ proof of address) before allowing our animals to go out on an adoption trial. A physical file containing microchip information, health records and behavioural information (to the best of our knowledge) will be provided to the adopter if it is the right fit for everyone and they decide to finalize the adoption.
If you live outside of the Lloydminster area, photos of your home and yard accompanied by a letter of reference from a veterinarian may be requested. We have done out of province adoptions as far as British Columbia and Manitoba, but we may refuse an adoption if there are concerns about the health or temperament of an animal. We want to be able to help with training and support where required, which is more difficult at a long distance.
