  I got my steel boning from corsetmaking.com and you can get 10 yards of 1/4 inch steel boning for $10.99. That's cheaper than plastic boning. Use plumbers tape to cap the ends. It works great and is cheaper than the caps.

  I would recommend corsetmaking.com as well. they have lots of great supplies, and the sprung steel (flat steel) boning is really sturdy. especially if you get the extra thick. it stays flexible, but definitely will support you and keep a corset from rolling. in flimsy plastic boned corsets I've had the rolling problem, too. every corset i've tried on with flat steel boning in the front supports with no problems.

  After having a corset with the zip ties I will never do it again. I just got another supply from Corsetmaking.com. I like the 1/4" ones personally.
