  Although they are not leather or suede, I like to use West County rose gloves. They are long and also washable which is nice. I have two pairs. Have yet to find shorter gloves that actually keep the dirt out or keep from getting holes in the finger ends. http://www.westcountygardener.com

  The ones I have from West County Gardener are fairly thin, remind me of the old "ultra suede" fabric.
