Sadly not all Dentistry is the same. We strive for quality care at a reasonable price. We are probably not the cheapest place on the block, and admit that up front. But all dentistry isn't created equal. There are 1000's of choices of dental materials, and some insurances set their fees based on cheaper products and faster care. If we are not a provider for those insurances, that is probably the case! We can go on for days about what some dental insurances force a dentist to cut out in treatment, but in a nutshell, when we charge $150 for a filling, and the networks make us settle for $80 do you think you are getting the same materials as the private pay patient that pays $150? NO! There isn't a $70 dollar profit on each filling (we wish there was) but instead, some insurance networks force you to cut the price by either speeding through the procedure to get more patients (ultimately for us losing quality) or typically using cheaper materials that offset the price reduction. A prime example is dentures. With an economy denture, there is no warranty for a reason! Its cheap products. With a premium denture there usually is a great warranty for several years, thats because we don't usually have issues with materials!
I need a good dentist for my family, can anyone recommend one?
