  We tend to use sew in labels - which tend to stay put in clothes. But you need to like sewing!! Or the iron on ones work - but come away over time. We use a permanent marker ---find fabric pens a waste of time and money as they do wash off. Then we use stuck in labels for sandwich box, water bottle/slippy surfaces.
