Looking for a good straight "cut throat" razor. Anyone know of a local store or barber shop that sells this? Already been to Sally next to Target and Ulta. Looking for a real blade. Not the refill kind or safety razor.

http://www.straightrazorplace.com Lots of good info on what to look for in a straight razor. There is some garbage that will not hold an edge. I have three in use and one I am restoring. All over 100 years old.
I've recently bought a single edge razor but it isn't shave ready, does anyone know of a place that could hone it for me? Anyone else out there that could give me and tips would be great too

www.straightrazorplace.com for advice. there's a place you can send them off in the UK, I think its the invisible edge. around £30 per razor if I recall. I'd help you out but have absolutely no spare time for the next couple of months. feel free to all me questions though
My razor, my razor! So I'm sure this topic has come up before but I couldn't find it in a quick search so I ask you, where can I get my blade sharpened? Like many others, I got the gift of a straight razor from the Art of Shaving (I know, I paid for convenience of giving someone an actual store to go to). Obviously, the razor is just not sharp enough. I have experience sharpening chisels I use in woodworking but for my first hone of the blade I really want to have it done by a trusted professional. Is there anywhere in Westchester County, NY or an online retailer that I could bring/send my razor to have it sharpened. I live close to NYC but I would rather avoid having to go into the city to get it sharpened but I'll definitely take suggestions of places there to go too. Thanks again r/wicked_edge

Look at classifieds in StraightRazorPlace.com (or their equivalent). Also check out StraightRazorDesigns.com, since they may identify some honemeisters.

I know nothing about thesuperiorshave.com but will check. Do you know the person that runs it? You might try straightrazordesigns.com it is quite a site and the razors from there are honed and shave ready. The owner is the one that started straightrazorplace.com and is a honemeister. Bill
Does anyone know where I could get the handle on my Genco razor repaired? It has cracked right across one of the pins. I really miss shaving with it.
Many of the .coms like Vintage Blades and Straight Razor Designs have replacement scales. Also you can contact Max or Glen on straightrazorplace.com and they can help you. Have fun, Lynn
I know this probably gets said at least once a week, but here goes anyway. I am looking for a place to buy a good razor. I need one for a good heavy beard and a beginners hand, lol. I have looked...
Check out the classified section over at www.straightrazorplace.com as there are some great, shave ready razors up for sale. There are also several vendors out there that take PayPal if you are looking for new. Have fun, Lynn
Hi, Anybody have a good repair person they would recommend. I have a couple of old razors I got from my dad and a few I picked up along the way. They need cleaning, some minor repair and sharpening...
There are a couple of guys at www.straightrazorplace.com that refurbish razors. I can hone them for you, but really don't do much on the refurbishing. Joe Chandler can sometimes regrind and rehandle. Robert Williams makes handles as doe Traveller (Gary). Have fun. Lynn
I would replace them in that case. If you go over to www.straightrazorplace.com and use this link there are several members listed who can supply about any scale you would want. http://straightrazorplace.com/classifieds/showcat.php/cat/4 Good luck,
Later today (that's Thursday), I will be travelling to the Twin Cities for the weekend. I am looking for a shaver in the area (hopefully) who can either hone two razors for me, or give me a lesson on...
Let me know if you ever get to Cleveland lol. You might want to ask over at www.straightrazorplace.com as well. Have fun. Lynn
